Twelve Mile Post
Just four miles East from where Highway 9 meets the water’s edge of Lake Lure is the community of Twelve Mile Post. The subdivision broke ground in 1999, and since then it’s grown to encompass approximately 460 gorgeous rolling acres in the foothills of the Western North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains.
If you’ve spent vacation time in Lake Lure, you’ve seen the bright red McOwenben Bridge which spans across the bold rushing Broad River. The gated bridge serves as the entrance for this mountain neighborhood of gently winding roads and large custom homes. The Developer paid close attention to the topography of the land, and carefully designed parcels of all sizes. With equestrian properties in mind, parcels from 20 to 90 acres were included. To insure privacy for homeowners, most lots are between 5 and 10 acres. Twelve Mile Post offers real estate with a variety of desired features. Within the community are lots along a river, many with long range mountain views, and even some with large or small ponds.
The residents of Twelve Mile Post enjoy an extremely convenient location. Just a few miles West are beautiful Lake Lure and Chimney Rock State Park. In that same direction, take the scenic route thru the Hickory Nut Gorge to the larger towns of Hendersonville or Asheville. A short drive East of Twelve Mile Post is the charming town of Rutherfordton, offering all the conveniences you need. Because horses are allowed in Twelve Mile Post, it has caught the attention of visitors and competitors from the nearby Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).
If you’re looking for a horse friendly established community in an ideal Rutherford County location not far from the Polk County line, call a seasoned Agent with the Mr. Lake Lure Real Estate Team. We’ll be glad to show you around!
